High Roller Tiki Lounge is a tiki bar within Sort This Out Cellars' tasting room in downtown Solvang, California. All of the drinks served are variations on tropical drinks, using wine as the base instead of rum or other hard liquor. The space is thoroughly decorated with lauhala and tiki tchotchkes, and souvenir mugs are available.
I cannot say enough about High Roller Tiki Lounge. It's a gem... a hidden little diamond in wine country. We went in there on an afternoon, and I wasn't expecting much. I had some musician friends who had played rockabilly at this bar, and I'd seen photos and was intrigued. The owner, Michael Cobb, was sooooo cool. He sat down with us and talked for well over an hour about tiki and how he built his bar, and all sorts of other things. I was completely bowled over and WOWED by the drinks. Talk about unique and delicious! They are all wine-based! Amazing that they can pull this off and make the drinks delicious, but they DO. I love this spot, and I cannot wait to see their new location, (they have moved). A+ 10 stars, totally recommend.

Golly, who would have ever thought I would purposely go into a wine bar? It happened, last year, on my birthday. Many happy returns? You betcha! This place was a birthday wish (that I didn't even know I had) come true.
The little tiki bar in the back of the Sort This Out Cellars' wine tasting bar was a little sliver of paradise in a town that sells itself for being on hyper-Danish steroids. I mean, how much aebleskiver or Hans Christen Anderson can one take before ones head spontaneously explodes? High Roller Tiki Lounge was a much-needed and very calming oasis away from the Scandinavian overload out on the streets.

Very impressed with the decor detail. Friendly service and drinks were very good considering they were wine based versus rum. Surprisingly good. Try the Painkiller, it's killer.

I took my wahine on a quick getaway to the Solvang area. While there I remembered High Roller Tiki was there (opened in 2016) so we decided to grab a drink and check it out. We went on a Tuesday which happens to be Tiki Tuesday. Meaning all drinks are happy hour priced. It's located in the back of a wine tasting establishment and is very well decorated. It's small and intimate. There is even a little nod to Tiki Tony in there if you know where to look. My whanie ordered the painkiller and I ordered the MaiTai. I knew from reading up that all of their tiki drinks are wine based as opposed to the traditional rum based. As I am not a fan of wine at all I was skeptical. But after trying both drinks I was very impressed. The painkiller was very delicious and had just the right amount of sweetness to it. The Mail Tai was very smooth and refreshing. Alana was very friendly as well. We will definitely be back the next time we make a trip up to Solvang

We’ve had a lot of Mai Tais on our quest to find the Ultimate Mai Tai. A LOT. But all of them had one thing in common and that was they heavily featured rum as the primary spirit.
Enter the most unique “Mai Tai” so far, the Mai Tai from the High Roller Tiki Lounge in Solvang, CA. Why you say? Because this Mai Tai isn’t made with rum but with wine. In fact, all the tiki drinks at this small but interesting tiki bar are wine-based.
High Roller is attached to Sort This Out Cellar’s tasting room and is located in the back of the storefront. The lounge itself is very small, literally one table, one booth, a couple tables with tools, and four seats at the bar. But, this is one fine destination! The decor here is on point, and the room oozed tiki thanks to the pure Exotica soundtrack and a TV showing a tiki documentary. So ironic this is located in “Danish” Solvang, but absolutely a blast to check out.
And that Mai Tai? Well, let me tell you, I am not a big wine drinker but I have had plenty of Mai Tais worse than this cocktail. It actually tasted like a Mai Tai - albeit with a wine base rather than the rum. I’d love to come back and sample the other drinks or maybe have a few of these bad boys.
If you’re in the area, you definitely need to check out High Roller Tiki Lounge. They also have some fabulous mugs, glasses, and t-shirts. The main room is Vegas and rockabilly themed if that’s your thing.
We loved this little place; such a nice cozy hideaway in the depths of Solvang. The hostess, Alana, was a delight and loved to talk about Tiki. There was a fun video playing, put together, I believe, by Spike of the Hula Girls. Great soundtrack. The only thing I can ding the place for was not that the drinks were wine-based, but that they were too sweet for our palates (this is true for many rum-based drinks also). I think the Mai Tai was our favorite, but we didn't get a chance to taste many others. Next time!
Stopped by on our way up to Monterrey with a little apprehension because their cocktails are all wine based. Not only did this place exceed our expectations, it shattered them. This was one of the more unique Tiki experiences we've had. The drinks are very unique, they have a crisp fruitiness because of the wine but still maintained the ability to get me where I wanted to be on the booze scale. The decor is awesome and felt genuine and the owner, Mike is inviting and super knowledgeable. It was really fun talking Tiki with him. We loved the place so much, we stopped again on our way home. Check out their weekly specials, primarily Mai Tai Monday. Also... They serve all their drinks in Tiki mugs, which I love and a lot of places don't really do as much. They also have their own take on Frankie's (Las Vegas) Tiki Bandit drink and they serve it in the Tiki Bandit Mug! My favorite mug and one of my favorite drinks and their homage does it justice. We love it and will be back.

Wine tails are a thing!
Very tiki, fun escape in wine country. We couldn't even tell that the drinks were wine based. Very clever!
My favorite drink was, 'This Drink Will Get You Lei'd' 🌺
This place is an awesomely decorated little nook in the back of a wine bar. They don't have a hard liquor license so there isn't any rum in the drinks. There in lies the problem. Personally, I hated the drinks. They tasted nothing like a tiki cocktail. On the other hand, it was a great space to hang out in and their tiki mugs were well made.
