Humuhumu’s description

Polynesian Putter is a bit of classic roadside Florida, a miniature golf course built around 1966 in St. Pete Beach. It has a giant moai with light-up eyes at the street front, which may have been sculpted by Lee Koplin. It is next to the Sea Palms Motel, both have been owned by Renate Ostrovski and her late husband since 1972.

If you are in the St Petersburg area and wish to check this location off your list...that's about all its good for, unless you want to play some miniature golf...but honestly there are better courses than this one. The large Moai Tiki head is there. Don't despair...walk a block or two up the street and visit the Freaky Tiki surf shop. They have a good selection of Tiki themed items. Now get in your car and drive north to Treasure Island and go to the St John's Pass shopping center. You must visit the backyard art store. This store has some of the best Tiki signs for an outdoor Tiki porch that I have ever seen. Eat lunch at The Hut. This is a great restaurant and tiki bar. It is worthy of being listed on this site.
