The Beachcomber was a restaurant on the historic Malibu Pier. The restaurant itself was not tiki but rather was designed to look like a 1930s restaurant. However the restaurant's bar, the Malibu Pier Club, had a special nook with a round table that seated about ten available for special reservations. This nook was called the Tonga Lei Room, and it was decked out as a tribute to the Tonga Lei
The bar and restaurant opened in 2008, and for the Tonga Lei Room the owners enlisted the assistance of Bamboo Ben, Tiki Farm and Tiki-Ray to help deck the place out. The Beachcomber closed in 2012.
I went to check this place out in January 2012, since it was highly recommended by the Tiki Chick. However, they had just gone out of business. I was able to peak through the blinds and get barely glimpse of the tiki decor shown in the above picture. Bummer it's closed.
The tiki pinstriper was a semi-regular at The Beachcomber.

I enjoyed the drinks and food and wouldnt have known about it had it not been for this site The Tonga Lei Room is the only part thats really tiki decorated, but it is awesome you need a group of at least 8 to book the room but Bamboo Ben dig a great job ( like always).
