Container for tattoo pigment (New Zealand, mid-1800s), tattooing tool (Fiji, 1800s) and funnel (New Zealand, early 1800s) at The Field Museum in Chicago
"Travelling The Pacific" and "Pacific Spirits on the Upper Level, which includes the Maori Meeting House, is definitely worth a visit, lots of artefacts from the early 1900's, I can't imagine leaving this exhibition without it enspiring anyone to create their own piece if Tiki Art. I was just disappointed their wasn't a book with photos and more details in the gift store.
If you want to see the real deal, this is the place to go. The Field Museum is an amazing place to spend an afternoon, but the Polynesian Collections are incredible.
