Humuhumu’s description

Tiki Chateau is a modern tiki bar in the Malasaņa neighborhood of Madrid. It is owned by Miguel Escobedo, and opened in November 2016. The space is very small, and the decoration is spare, but heartfelt; Escobedo has a genuine love of tiki. The wall coverings are not organic matting, but instead are damask wallpaper, but small tiki touches are peppered throughout, and a framed piece of tapa cloth is at the end of the wooden bar. Unlike most of the Spanish tiki destinations, the focus at Tiki Chateau is on creating great tiki cocktails, including the use of housemade syrups and appropriate rums.

Great spot. Tiny tiki bar, ambiance is great, music is killer, drinks are amazing. Cool collection of vintage Spanish tiki mugs. Only thing which is a bit weird is the opening times, haven't really figured it out yet, I think Thursday to Sunday evenings only (After 8).

This is not a classic spanish "tiki"-bar, this is REAL tiki bar, "must go" spot for every tiki enthusiast who happens to visit Spain. It is done and run by real tiki enthusiast, also member of Tiki Central.

Barman/owner/mixologist is real nice guy, experienced with tiki-drinks and all tiki-culture as a whole.

Drinks are real and drinks are tiki and amen for that!

Music is not tiki, but soft '60 rockabilly (lot of movie-era Elvis), because bar is located in dive bar area of Madrid and according to owner exotica music just hadn't work for spanish people.

Place is small, but crowded, even though tables are rarely used, all the life is on the bar counter, everybody knows everybody, just as in US bars.

Together with Aloha-bar in Alicante, Tiki Chateau is propably the only tiki-spot that is really worth to visit.

Madrid wasn't my best tiki-trip. After Hawai Waipahu Paradise was closed without further notice, Tiki Chateau was closed at 6.30 pm - even though their Facebook said it was open. I sended them a message, and they answered to open in an hour. (I couldn't make it back, because I had a meeting.) :-(
