I've been raised in tiki bars since a little child. Earliest memories are of Kelbo's ribs and "the thing" a tropical drink made with prune juice. But I didn't care at the time, because I was too young to drink rum...a great atmospheric tiki restaurant of yore.
Then In college I started exploring, and rum is where I wound up. First bottle bought was Demerara 151. That was unfortunate. Enough said.
But in the years since, I have come to appreciate Castillo Spiced, then Myers, and certainly 10 Cane. There have been others along the way. There are always others. But one thing I have learned is that if its going to happen...its going to happen out there--in the Tiki Bars!
